Document Details : Title: Hoe boosaardig zijn de listen te Chiefdore? Subtitle: Reinaerdie in de Parthonopeus van Bloys Author(s): REYNDERS, Anne Journal: Spiegel der Letteren Volume: 48 Issue: 3 Date: 2006 Pages: 263-280 DOI: 10.2143/SDL.48.3.2020211 Abstract : Shortly before 1260 the Old French romance Partonopeu de Blois was adapted in Middle Dutch. In this adaptation the Middle Dutch poet twice inserted the word reinaerdie. These might be deliberate intertextual references to the animal epic Van den vos Reynaerde, which invited the medieval audience to compare the stratagems and deceptions in this romance to the tricks of the famous fox. |
