Abstract :
This second part of ‘Autumnal spring’ discusses recent developments in semiotics of the Parisian school and attempts making these operational based on a further analysis of the same object.
After the years of structuralism, the emphasis was placed on the subject. The semiotics of Greimas integrated this new development in its own manner. It was done in conjunction with a further development of the concept of enunciation and the role of the body in the process of semiotic design. The original phenomenological impulses were recaptured and the meta- language was enriched with an abundance of concepts which made it possible to have a clearer insight into the personal discursive layer of the discourse. One gains insight into the discourse ‘in actu’, as a process of coming into being, and its sensory dimensions. It is no longer seen as a logical formal relation between expression and content, but as a semiotic design which assumes an incarnated subject and thus knows physical intercession.
