Document Details : Title: Fifty years of the Dutch Study Group The Society of Liturgical Studies Author(s): VAN TONGEREN, Louis Journal: Questions Liturgiques/Studies in Liturgy Volume: 87 Issue: 3 Date: 2006 Pages: 161-178 DOI: 10.2143/QL.87.3.2017841 Abstract : As part of the Liturgical Movement within the Roman Catholic Church, during the first half of the twentieth century in Flanders and in the Netherlands all sorts of activities were planned and initiatives taken with the aim of broadening insight into the significance of the liturgy and its involvement in the Mass. Under the title Het kerkelijk leven (Religious Life) booklets were printed in monthly instalments, which included the liturgical texts for use on Sundays and Christian festivals with a translation and explanation. These booklets enabled the faithful to familiarise themselves with the content of the liturgy and to follow the priests actions and words at the altar. |
