Abstract :

The reading and interpretation of the Aramaic Bukân stele published by Rasoul-e Bashash Kanzaq get some light from the comparison with the Sfire and Tell Fekherye inscriptions. This fragmentary stele has now only 13 lines of curses; it is probably only the end of a commemorative royal inscription to be dated at the end of the eigth c. B.C. It probably shows that Tapeh Qalâychi is to be identified with Z'TR/Izirtu, capital of the Mannaean kingdom.
