Abstract :
Onder straatnamen in de ruime zin van het woord verstaan we die benamingen die straten, wegen, paden en pleinen benoemen. Zoals andere toponiemen, zijn straatnamen en pleinnamen eigennamen, die meestal samengesteld zijn uit een bepalend woord en een door dit eerste lid bepaald zelfstandig naamwoord.

Street names in the broad sense are names for streets, roads, alleys, and squares. Like other toponymes, street names and place names are personal names, mostly made out of two parts: the first part being a determinative, the second a subjectif determined by this first part.
