Abstract :

A Green Linguistic Frontier. The Case of 'Opbrakel' versus 'Flobecq/Vloesberg'
When M. Hoebeke wrote his article 'A Toponymical Trip to Flobecq' in volume 4 (1972) of this journal, he clearly defined his aim: not 'to write a toponymical research on Flobecq', but 'to verify which names have a germanic origin, what remains Dutch or what has been translated into Dutch, and especially where formerly -meaning, in the Middle Ages- the linguistic frontier exactly was drawn'. These aims can be repeated here in the same manner.
