Abstract :
Belts are an important part of the Parthian trouser-suit and are worn with knee-length tunics or short jackets. They are shown in Parthian art on statues and figurines, on relief sculptures and coins, and in paintings and graffiti. There are also actual examples of belts both from excavations — but these are unfortunately few — and from unprovenanced contexts.
