As is well known verses 26-27 of Romans 11 are very much discussed. Is the Deliverer God or Christ (or God in Christ)? If Christ, does his coming point to the parousia and the eschaton? And how must one interpret the sovereign action of God or Christ with regard to human response, the needed faith of Israel (cf. v. 23: “if they do not persist in their unbelief”)?
