Abstract :
While working on the Ur-Utu archive of Sippar-Amnānum we were confronted with the “storage” of goods, either the storing of the revenues of the Annunītum temple in its particular storehouse, the nakkamtum, or the storing of the tablets themselves in Ur-Utu’s house. All the texts published here are in one way or another related to storing. Most of these British Museum tablets were already known to R. Harris while preparing her essential but often underestimated study on “Ancient Sippar”. They remained however unpublished. Because of their importance for our knowledge of the “palace and temple” economy in Babylonia it seems appropriate to publish them now; there are six tablets in all.
