The primary purpose of this presentation is to try and establish the possible Vorlageunderlying the quotations of these “sayings”. From this some indication may hopefully be found on how the writer used and interpreted Scripture within the context of these two passages, which in turn may throw some light on Hebrews’ Christology. These insights may then further contribute to a better understanding of the “pictures of Jesus” as drawn by the early Christians. |
