Abstract :
In chapter II 75 of his History Movsēs Xorenac῾i mentions Firmilian, bishop of Caesarea, a prominent ecclesiastical figure of the third century AD, and his Narration. Some events that, according to Movsēs Xorenac῾i, are written down in this Narration, occured after Firmilian’s death. Therefore most scholars assume that Movsēs Xorenac῾i actually never used a work of Firmilian and that he ascribed the work of another to Firmilian by mistake. In this article it is argued that Movsēs Xorenac῾i did use a writing of Firmilian as a source for his History
