Abstract :
The amount of publication in this area which has appeared since the 1970's and 80's would be enough to discourage anyone to formulate any reflections on the subject of education in biomedical ethics. Though it is not yet the case in every country -particularly in some of the 'Latin' countries in Europe- the teaching of biomedical ethics today seems to be firmly entrenched in most courses of medical training. The methods may be quite varied, yet the majority agree that a 'training' in ethics has its place in such courses. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lille has itself introduced this teaching into its programs, continuing a long tration in the course of humanistic ideas and deontological training were incorporated in the education of future doctors. On the basis of this experience, the following reflections are submitted for discussion.
