Ce qui doit etre sûr à présent, c'est que ce n'est pas la strophe du choix, mais celle de la discrimination entre les deux mainiiu. Les principales difficultés syntaxiques ont été repérées des les premières interprétations (Neryosang, Geldner, Bartholomae), mais bien des exégètes, plus attentifs au contenu qu'a la forme, n'ont pas voulu y revenir, preferant citer inlassablement une autorité. Les interprétations de Humbach, d'Insler et la notre, les plus védisantes, ne font guère l'unanimite, mais les désaccords ne sont pas clairement exprimés. Gershevitch est revenu deux fois ala charge, mais avec des propositions fort inégales. L'examen critique de toutes les versions les unes par rapport aux autres montre que les choix grammaticaux ont été souvent plus faciles que les distinctions. Y 30.3, which is the most often read gathic stanza because it founds the definition of the ancient mazdeism as a dualism and whose exegesis, therefore, is most polemistic, has not received untill now a satisfactory grammatical interpretation for each of its words. What must be sure now is this: it is not the stanza of the choice, but the one of the discrimination between the two mainiius. The chief syntactic difficulties have been detected early, by the first interpretations (Neryosang, Geldner, Bartholomae), but a lot of scholars, more attending to the substance than to the form, did not want to examine it again, prefering to quote untiringly an authorized translation. Those, more «vedic», of Humbach, Insler and ours do not make unanimity, but the discrepancies are not clearly expressed. Gershevitch re-examines it two times, but giving propositions of very unequal value. The critical examination and the confrontation of the different versions show that the grammatical choices have been often easier than the discriminations. |
