En d'autres termes, le non-être est impossible. Telle est la thèse centrale du Poème de Parménide. L'autuer tente de voir que cette thèse ne se justifie aux yeux de l'Eléate que si l'Être s'indentifie à l'Un. S'il en est bien ainsi, il en découle une importante conséquence pour l'interprétation du Poème, à savoir que l'affirmation de l'Être ne dépend pas de la négation du non-Être ainsi que pensent de nombreux interprètes. Cet article discute deux interprétations récentes, celle de N.L. Cordero et de L. Couloubaritsis. L'auteur essaie de voir dans quelle mésure la vraie pensée de Pamrénide ne consiste pas à faire dépendre l'affirmation de l'Être de celle du non-Être mais de l'inverse, en appuyant l'argumentation sur la réciprocit de l'Être et de l'Un. Being exists in an absolute sense and because it exists it cannot cease to be. In other words non-being is impossible. This is the central thesis of Parmenides' poem. The author aims to show that this thesis can only be justified in Parmenides' view if Being is considered to be identical with the One. If this is the case, it has an important effect on the interpretation of the Poem, namely that the affirmation of Being does not depend on the denial of Non-Being, as many exegetes hold. In this article two recent interpretations are discussed, namely those of N.L. Cordero and L. Couloubaritsis. The author aims to inquire to what extent the true thought of Parmenides does not consist in making the affirmation of Being depend on that of non-Being, but rather the contrary, by basing his argumentation on the reciprocity of Being and the One. |
