Les thèses essentielles de cette lecture originale et influente de la pensée de Platon furent formulées par Hermann Cohen et Paul Natorp, qui ont essayé de comprendre la théorie platonicienne des idées à la lumière de la réflexion de Kant, en mettant surtout l’accent sur la signification et les implications épistémologiques du rapport entre Platon et Kant. Par ailleurs, la référence à l’exégèse néo-kantienne permet d’identifier une véritable ligne interprétative dans les études platoniciennes du XXe siècle, en particulier dans le monde anglo-saxon. This article puts forward a schematic reconstruction of the neo-Kantian interpretation of Plato, proposed in the context of the School of Marburg between the second half of the XIXth and the first half f the xxth century. The basic tenets of this original interpretation of Plato’s thought were drawn up by Hermann Cohen and Paul Natorp, who attempted to understand Plato’s theory of Ideas according to Kant’s doctrine, emphasizing above all the epistemological significance and implications of the relationship between Plato and Kant. In addition, reference to the neo-Kantian School of Marburg makes it possible to characterize many important interpretations of Plato in the xxth century, especially in the Anglo-Saxon world. |
