Abstract :
When we speak of the language of the Huns, we must in the first place realize that the languages of this old and great nomadic empire of Asia and Eastern Europe were not uniform. This is why the peoples of this empire have received an established ethnicon. I will deal at some length with their name and with their empire after its desintegration. In essence, however, I will do nothing more than explain the meaning of the names of these tribes. More concretely, I will limit myself to those tribes which belonged to the epinomes or to those peoples related with the political ties of the tribe alliance.
