During the last decades, religious freedom in the European Union gradually evolved. Three key notions can mark teh direction of the evolution, namely more freedom, more equality, and more fraternity among religious groups. Have the goals of the French Revolution finally been achieved? Indeed, all three characteristics have been developed more in depth than ever before.
