Journal: Revue des Études Juives Volume: 163 Issue: 1-2 Date: 20004 Pages: 289-293 DOI: 10.2143/REJ.163.1.504726 Abstract : In a recent issue of Revue des études juives, there appears a response by Hannah Kasher to an article of mine on Joseph ibn Kaspi’s reading of the Book of Esther which was published in an earlier volume of the same journal. The response consists primarily of two points: first, a defense of her reading of a critical passage in Kaspi’s long commentary on Job against my own, and second, a critique of my overall understanding of the allegory that Kaspi imputes to the Book of Esther. |
