Document Details : Title: A Critical Edition of the Quaestiones ad Theopemptum of Maximus the Confessor (CPG 7696) Author(s): ROOSEN, Bram , VAN DEUN, Peter Journal: Journal of Eastern Christian Studies Volume: 55 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2003 Pages: 65-79 DOI: 10.2143/JECS.55.1.504410 Abstract : In spite of the efforts for the ongoing publication of the Series Graeca of the Corpus Christianorum and the increasing recognition that Maximus the Confessor ranks as the most important Byzantine theologian of the 7th century and as the great defender of orthodoxy in the monenergetic and monotheletic controversies, several of his writings still await a critical edition and thorough study. The present contribution is devoted to the small and until now little studied treatise Quaestiones ad Theopemptum [CPG7696]. As such, it continues the project of our Leuven Centre, i.e., to present a reliable text of the complete œuvre of Maximus. |
