Abstract :
From the 20th trough the the 21st of October 2003, the Liturgica lInstitute of the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University Leuven organized its 16th international liturgical colloquium in the abbey of Keizersberg (Mont César). The aim of this biannual colloquia is to gather together internationally recognized liturgical and other scholars around contemporary liturgical topics in order to interchange the results of their research and to communicate them towards a broader body of interested people. This time their was the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Pius X's famous notion of 'active participation', which was taken over by the liturgical mouvement and particularly by Lambert Beaudoin, monk of the abbey of Mont César, who started the endeavour to make the liturgy no longer a mere clerical affair but an authentic celebration by the congregation of the faithful.
