Dans ce projet le logos, la psyche et le cosmos sont organisés à partir d'aspects philosophiques et religieux et apparaissent comme les catégories fondamentales de la culture. Cassirer et Husserl ont fait de la forme symbolique d'une part et de l'intentionnalité d'autre part, le principe du résultat de la culture et de son processus. Tous deux déterminent par là, d'une manière moderne, ce que signifie la culture. La culture est à la fois la base et le cadre de toute l'orientation humaine, elle se développe en tant qu'orientation par rapport à toutes les orientations. De là naît une tension entre diverses orientations, qui revendiquent chacune d'être «l»'orientation par rapport aux (autres) orientations. L'aboutissement de cette tension appartient au processus de la culture, comme Cassirer et Husserl le montrent. The foundation of the mediaeval university, the ancestor of our present-day universities, is presented as a project of orientation of orientation itself. In this project logos, psyche and kosmos are organised from philosophical and religious viewpoints. They show themselves to be basic categories of culture. Cassirer and Husserl subordinated the state of culture and the process of culture to the principle of symbolic formation, on the one hand, and of intentionality, on the other. Thus both determine in a modern way the meaning of culture. It is both the basis and the framework of all human orientation, which develops itself into an orientation of all orientations. In the course of this development there arises the problem of a tension between diverse orientations, which pretend to be the orientation of orientations. The settlement of this tension belongs to the process of culture, as shown by Cassirer and Husserl. (Transl. by J. Dudley). |
