Document Details : Title: Experience and Transformation in the Christian Lived Experience Subtitle: An Interpretation Author(s): ZAS FRIZ DE COL, Rossano Journal: Studies in Spirituality Volume: 32 Date: 2022-2023 Pages: 5-33 DOI: 10.2143/SIS.32.0.3292451 Abstract : This essay suggests an approach to the relationship between experience and transformation in the Christian tradition from the current context of post-Christianity. How to understand today the relationship between what is experienced and how it transforms the lived experience of the Christian revelation? The answer to this question is articulated in four parts. While the first one presents a brief historical review to understand the importance of the mentioned relationship, the second and third parts focus on the decision-making process and the notion of transformation as the horizon towards which decisions tend to be directed. The fourth and last part presents the consequences of the preceding parts claiming an updated idea of Christian experience by proposing the notion of ‘Christian lived experience’ in its place and Christian experiential transformation as the main focus of the comprehension of both Christian spirituality and spiritual theology. |
