Cet épisode sera étudié aussi par rapport à la tradition de l’Antiquité tardive, notamment la narration de Dictys-Septimius. Par cette analyse nous tenterons de mettre en lumière les aspects de continuité et d’innovation dans la réélaboration du mythe d’Iphigénie (et dans les mythes classiques en général) par le poète africain. The paper proposes an examination of the episode of Iphigenia in the Orestis tragoedia, which is analyzed in relation to the classical tradition – in particular the Latin one – referred to by Dracontius in the delineation of the story and in the presentation of the figure of Agamemnon’s daughter; but this episode is considered also in relation with the late antique tradition, and in particular with the narration of Dictys-Septimius. Through this analysis, we will try to highlight the factors of continuity and innovation in the treatment of the myth of Iphigenia (and classical myths in general) by the African poet. |
