Abstract :

The subject of this note is a terracotta protome found in level 4 during the 1980 supplementary excavation at Tell Keisan. It belongs to a large group of similar objects (masks and protomai) characteristic of the Phoenician and Punic cultural milieu of the Iron II B-C period. The presentation of the object is accompanied by a description of the stratigraphy context, an iconographic analysis, and a discussion of its possible function.
