Cette modeste contribution se propose d’évoquer le processus ancestral tel qu’il apparaît dans les textes vétérinaires grecs anciens, l’occasion pour les participants aux mises au vert «nouvelle vague» de mesurer à quoi ils échappent. The French phrase mise au vert (‘putting out to grass’) has recently come to acquire a novel meaning outside the agricultural setting where it had long been confined. Nowadays, it is used in French-speaking Belgium for a common team building practice in companies and institutions, with an obvious evolution in its conception and repercussions. This modest paper aims to inform the reader of the occurrences and uses of the term in ancient Greek veterinary and agricultural texts, thus allowing participants in the contemporary practice of being 'put out to grass' to appreciate what they are missing, or are spared. |
