Ceci étant, la crise sanitaire imposée par la pandémie de Covid-19 a fait basculer l’Église dans une communication par l’image et le son plutôt bien reçue par les fidèles confinés. Le présent article propose trois hypothèses explicatives de ce phénomène. S’il est un facteur historique et un autre techno-économique à ce type d’acte ecclésial de communication, il en est encore un lié au processus de transmission du catholicisme qui se fonde – selon la lecture médiologique qu’en livre Régis Debray – sur la doctrine de l’Incarnation définie au concile de Chalcédoine. D’un point de vue théologique cependant, cette doctrine véhicule une théologie de l’Alliance qui s’érige ici en instance critique de la pastorale sur le web. Elle permet, en effet, de vérifier si le recours à l’image et aux outils audiovisuels en ligne est pertinent, ajusté à la dynamique humaine et évangélique de la relation puisqu’il n’est pas de Révélation du Dieu de l’Alliance hors du dispositif humain de l’alliance. An online Catholic pastoral has existed in France since the beginning of the web in the mid-1990s. The crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has, then, prompted the Church to turn to an image and sound-based communication which has been welcomed by the confined communities. The present article suggests three possible explanations to this phenomenon. There may be a historical and techno-economic factor to this type of ecclesial act of communication, but there is also another one linked to the process of the transmission of Catholicism, which is based – according to Regis Debray’s mediological reading – on the doctrine of Incarnation as it was established at the Council of Chalcedon. But, from a theological point of view, this doctrine conveys a Covenant theology which stands here as a critical instance of pastoral work on the web. Indeed, it shows whether the use of images and online audiovisual tools is relevant, adjusted to the human and evangelical dynamics of the relationship since there is no Revelation of the God of the Covenant outside the human device of the alliance. |
