Cuchet pour expliquer l’origine du déclin du christianisme à la suite de Vatican II. Selon lui, ce déclin serait dû, en particulier, au peu de place donnée à la réflexion sur les «fins dernières» dans le corpus conciliaire et dans la prédication. L’auteure met en lumière comment le Concile a honoré de manière renouvelée la réflexion sur l’eschatologie et comment celle-ci s’inscrit à nouveaux frais dans la prédication. Ainsi, le passage du sermon thématique à la prédication s’appuyant sur la parole de Dieu a permis de remettre en lumière des notions eschatologiques bibliques essentielles, parmi lesquelles le Royaume. En convoquant la liberté de chaque chrétien face à la radicalité du message évangélique centré sur le mystère pascal, la prédication reste tout aussi performative, mais son horizon est désormais le salut de toute la création et l’engagement chrétien dans le monde. The article responds to some of the arguments put forward by G. Cuchet to explain the origin of the decline of Christianity following Vatican II. According to him, this decline is due, in particular, to the lack of space dedicated in the conciliar corpus and preaching to the reflection on the 'Last Things'. The article highlights how the Council has renewed the theological reflection on eschatology and how it is incorporated into preaching in a new way. Thus, the passing from thematic sermon to preaching based on the Word of God has brought to light fundamental biblical eschatological concepts, including the Kingdom. By summoning the freedom of every Christian in relation to the radicality of the Gospel message centered on the Paschal Mystery, preaching remains performative, but its horizon is now the salvation of all creation and Christian commitment in the world. |
