Après quoi, par mode d’échantillonnage recouvrant en gros un demi-siècle, des années 1960 à 2020, elle tente de retracer l’état actuel de la recherche et de voir où en est la lecture allégorique dominante et certaines des difficultés qu’elle soulève. Elle se demande alors si la prise au sérieux de l’environnement lucanien et, plus largement, de la théologie du troisième évangile ne suggère pas une autre lecture de la parabole, du reste déjà prônée pour l’essentiel il y a un siècle. This study, which deals with the meaning of Lk 14:16-24 in the final text of the Gospel of Luke, begins by situating the parable in its place of insertion, the first part of chapter 14, by showing the links that it maintains in particular with the exhortation of Jesus in 14:12-14. After which, by means of sampling covering roughly half a century, from 1960 to 2020, it attempts to retrace the current state of research and indicates where the dominant allegorical reading is and some of the difficulties it raises. It then wonders if taking seriously the Lucanian environment and, more broadly, the theology of the Third Gospel does not suggest another reading of the parable, moreover already advocated for the most part a century ago. |
