It is a translation (with minor editorial changes) of her article 'El prefijo locativo de la clase 18 y la expresión del progresivo presente en Bantú' (1989), which originally appeared in Spanish in Estudios Africanos IV, 6: 35-54 [Part I] and Estudios Africanos IV, 7: 61-86 [Part II]. By publishing the article in English, we hope to make this output of Yvonne Bastin’s meticulous historical/comparative research on Bantu languages more widely accessible. Cet article est publié en mémoire de la professeure Yvonne Bastin. Il s’agit d’une traduction (avec des modifications éditoriales mineures) de son article 'El prefijo locativo de la clase 18 y la expresión del progresivo presente en Bantú' (1989), initialement paru en espagnol dans Estudios Africanos IV, 6: 35-54 [Partie I] et Estudios Africanos IV, 7: 61-86 [Partie II]. En publiant cet article en anglais, nous espérons rendre plus largement accessible ce résultat de recherche historico‑comparative méticuleuse d’Yvonne Bastin sur les langues bantu. |
