Document Details : Title: De l'hospitalité Subtitle: À propos de Heidegger, de la peinture moderne et de l'Orient Author(s): STEVENS, Bernard Journal: Etudes phénoménologiques - Phenomenological Studies Volume: 5 Date: 2021 Pages: 107-127 DOI: 10.2143/EPH.5.0.3288752 Abstract : The paper endeavours to show that the advent of modern painting (from impressionism to abstraction) was due to a combination of an inner maturation of Western art and an opening to the outside influence of exotic esthetics (mostly Far-Eastern and African). Maybe a parallel can be made with the phenomenological movement where the inner maturation has clearly been developed, but not so much the opening to non-European civilizations. |
