Abstract :
The topic of this article is the so-called Refutatio epistolae regis Armeniae, which was written in the last quarter of the ninth century by Nicetas Byzantius at the behest of Patriarch Photius. This text contains a wide range of Christological arguments. Comparison shows that Nicetas relied heavily on earlier writings, both extant and lost. Study of these borrowings helps us better to understand the last stages of the Chalcedonian Christological discourse.
