L’hypothèse avancée est la suivante: la Bible est désormais parvenue à son entière autonomie et rendue pleinement accessible hors de la confession chrétienne. Elle s’inscrit ainsi, de manière publique, en culture plurielle et sécularisée. D’un point de vue théologique, on peut reconnaître, dans ce statut non confessant de la Bible, une modalité de l’agir salvifique de Dieu dans la culture. This text reacts to a conference held jointly by ACÉBAC and SCT in 2018 and dedicated to the influence of the Bible upon arts and culture. It suggests that the conference illustrates a crucial moment in the historical development of Western Christianity. Such a suggestion is based upon the hypothesis that the Bible has come to its full autonomy, now fully made accessible outside the Christian creed and fully embedded in a plural and secular culture as a public artefact. From a theological perspective, it is suggested that this new form of culturally embodied presence can be interpreted as fully pertaining to the history of salvation. |
