En raison du climat «relativiste» de la fin du XXe siècle, le magistère a relancé un processus de dogmatisation. La transmission actuelle de la foi doit-elle passer par une attestation des dogmes au risque d’entraver le dialogue ou par leur interprétation au risque de relativiser leur contenu doctrinal? Or, ce dilemme pourrait bien s’enraciner dans une conception moderne du dogme, réduit à n’être que l’énoncé d’une vérité doctrinale. S’appuyant sur la manière dont certains dogmes ont émergé dans l’histoire, cet article tente de montrer leur structure complexe. Un dogme n’affirmerait qu’indirectement une vérité de foi, ouvrant l’espace à une interprétation régulée. The post-modern context marked by cultural and religious pluralism challenges the dialogical posture of the Church, promoted at the Second Vatican Council. Due to the «relativist» atmosphere of the late 20th century, the Magisterium has relaunched a process of dogmatization. Should the current transmission of faith pass through an attestation of the dogmas at the risk of hindering dialogue or an interpretation of them at the risk of relativizing their doctrinal content? But this dilemma may well be rooted in a modern conception of dogma, reduced to a mere statement of a doctrinal truth. Based on the way in which certain dogmas have emerged in history, this article attempts to evidence their complex structure. A dogma would only indirectly affirm a truth of faith, opening the way to a regulated interpretation. |
