Élève de Joseph Ratzinger, l’ancien professeur de Fribourg en Brisgau a donné une réponse intéressante à l’universalisme herméneutique, soutenu par Hans-Georg Gadamer. À son avis, la réflexion théologique doit s’appuyer sur une herméneutique transformée, étayée par une philosophie première afin de pouvoir rendre compte du caractère définitif de la révélation (1 P 3,15). Après avoir fait le point sur les moments importants et problématiques de la pensée gadamérienne, nous nous focaliserons sur la manière dont Verweyen a revisité celle-ci, en croisant Hans Urs von Balthasar, Johann Gottlieb von Fichte et Karl-Otto Apel. The article aims to present the approach in fundamental theology of Hansjürgen Verweyen who has left his mark on the theological discussions in Germany for the past 25 years. Disciple of Joseph Ratzinger, the former professor of Freiburg-im-Breisgau gave an interesting answer to the hermeneutical universalism, supported by Hans-Georg Gadamer. In his opinion, theological reflection must be based on transformed hermeneutics that is supported by a first philosophy in order to be able to give an account of the definitive character of the revelation (1 Pt 3,15). After reviewing the relevant and problematic moments of Gadamerian thought, we will focus on the way in which Verweyen revised it, covering Hans Urs von Balthasar, Johann Gottlieb von Fichte and Karl-Otto Apel. |
