Abstract :
This brief article deals with the history of the manuscript Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Ottobonianus gr. 92, which contains a premetaphrastical menologion of Febraury and was copied in the 16th century from the manuscript Wien, Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek, historicus gr. 3. The author shows that Ottobonianus gr. 92 was produced for the library of cardinal Marcello Cervini (1501-1555) and later it appeared in the catalogue of the Greek manuscripts (Vat. lat. 6163) owned by cardinal Guglielmo Sirleto (1514-1585). Moreover, he demonstrates that this manuscript was used by Gentien Hervet (1499-1584) for his Latin translation of the first part of the menologion, which was published in Venice in 1556. Finally, considering the history of both manuscripts, he suggests that Ottobonianus gr. 92 was copied from Vindobonensis historicus gr. 3 between 1548 and 1553.
