Abstract :
In this paper I provide some critical comments on Dennis Schulting’s Kant’s Radical Subjectivism: Perspectives on the Transcendental Deduction (London: Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). I focus on two aspects of Schulting’s reading of Kant: his reading of Kant as a coherentist and his reading of Kant as a conceptualist. I argue that it is not clear whether Kant accepts a form of coherentism and I discuss some of Kant’s reflections on animals, which may be difficult to square with a conceptualist reading of Kant.
