Abstract :
The core of the article is a discussion of the formulation ἐγώ + name in nominative + γράφω + name in dative, occasionally found in prescripts of Greek papyrus letters from late antiquity. Its Coptic equivalent is very common, which may suggest that the Greek construction goes back to the Coptic. The article closes with a brief examination of a few further cases of possible bilingual interference in documents of this period.
