Abstract :
Church history and historical theology more and more lack the knowledge and thorough methodology that we find in the investigation of global Christianity. The following article opts for a more pluriform, dialogical and respectful context for debates and research about non-European Christianity. After a short reflection on the dialogical principles of bipolar agonality (bipolare Agonalität) versus a more complementary understanding, the article focuses on the question of the need for unity. The topic of the next section is the paradigm of 'room' (that has recently been discussed intensively) and the multidimensional topography of Christianity. The article ends with some notes about unity and plurality as paradigms for a history of global Christianity.
