Seul Georg Simmel lui a explicitement conféré ce statut, non sans souligner son caractère profondément paradoxal. La présente étude se propose d’indiquer à grands traits, et à titre expérimental, ce que pourrait être une théorie de l’art considérant le jeu d’acteur comme modèle. Le point principal de cet essai réside dans la mise en évidence d’une caractéristique essentielle du jeu d’acteur, à savoir une adhérence mutuelle particulièrement forte de l’artiste et de sa création. Cette coïncidence, à la fois spatiale et temporelle, de l’objet et du sujet artistiques oblige l’artiste à instaurer une distance qui, dans d’autres arts, peut sembler simplement donnée (alors qu’elle ne l’est, en réalité, jamais). Unlike the painted image or the poetic text, acting has almost never been recognised as a paradigm capable of orientating the approach to the arts in general. Only Georg Simmel explicitly conferred this status on it, while not omitting to emphasise its profoundly paradoxical character. The present study seeks to set out broadly and in an experimental way how a theory of art might turn out if it considers acting as a model. The main point of this essay is that of identifying an essential characteristic of acting, namely a particularly strong mutual adherence to one another of the artist and his creation. This coincidence, both spatial and temporal, of the artistic object and subject obliges the artist to establish a distance which in other arts may seem simply given (although in reality this is never the case). |
