Bordewijk’s Bint (1934), it is often said that A.M. de Jong’s radio talk on this novel has not been preserved. However, the archives of the ROCC (Radio Omroep Contrôle Commissie) in The Hague do contain the typoscript of this talk. This contribution outlines the contents of De Jong’s speech on Bint, while also comparing the talk to Bordewijk’s public response to De Jong’s criticism. Moreover, it contains a transcription of the radio talk, enabling future researchers of Bint to analyse the speech. |
