It focuses first on the events in the Peloponnese that have been placed by R.J.H. Jenkins in the early 920’s and that actually belong in the 930’s and 940’s. Then it deals with problematic issues in the history of South Italy in the 920-50’s (revising the careers of several officials posted in Greece and Italy), the date of Beneševič Taktikon, and the military accounts of the Byzantine expedition to Longobardia, which, both in the Book of Ceremonies and in De administrando imperio, belong in 934-935. Cette étude est consacrée à quatre sujets distincts mais étroitement liés. Elle commence en abordant des événements du Péloponnèse placés par R.J.H. Jenkins au début des années 920, mais appartenant en réalité aux années 930-940. Elle cherche ensuite à résoudre quelques problèmes d’histoire de l’Italie du Sud dans les années 920-950 (en revisitant en passant quelques carrières de fonctionnaires en poste en Grèce et en Italie), puis à établir la date exacte du Taktikon Beneševič, et enfin à démontrer l’unité des comptes de la campagne de Longobardie dans le Livre des Cérémonies et dans le De administrando imperio, correspondant dans les deux textes aux années 934-935. |
