Abstract :
L’article a pour but de raviver la pratique du sacrement de la Réconciliation, en ses deux modes de célébration.

The aim of this article is to revive the practice of the sacrament of Reconciliation, in both of its forms of celebration. The individual form opens with the mutual greeting of penitent and priest, who together begin to listen to God’s call to conversion. After this biblical reading, the person is invited to confess his or her sins, and then to receive God’s pardon in order to be able to testify to this great joy. But Reconciliation can also, and even more fruitfully, be experienced in community. In that case, the celebration begins, just like the Eucharist, with a liturgy of the Word; this is followed by confession, which requires the presence of several priests Reconciliation with God can then be incarnated in a reconciliation with one or other person present. A true celebration, like the one that greeted the return of the prodigal son! A major pastoral effort is needed to bring this about.
