Alcohol consumption is associated with both good and bad cardiovascular effects. The link between drinking alcohol and heart disease, or arrhythmia, in healthy individuals or with existing heart disease has been well demonstrated. We report the case of a patient with no evidence of heart disease who presented with sustained ventricular tachycardia and syncope after acute alcohol consumption. Alcohol is an uncommon and little-known cause of sustained ventricular tachycardia. |
