De société parfaite et hiérarchique, on en est venu à parler de l’Église comme peuple de Dieu, sacrement du salut ou encore germe du Royaume de Dieu. Cet article développe deux aspects de l’enseignement du concile sur l’Église: l’égalité de tous les baptisés en regard de leur dignité et de leur activité dans la construction du corps du Christ ainsi que la complémentarité et la synergie de tous les charismes de l’Église. Ces deux nouveaux paradigmes ont fortement influencé l’enseignement du concile sur la catéchèse. This article explores how a renewed comprehension of the mystery and mission of the Church at Vatican II impacts catechetical praxis. First, two aspects of the Council’s teaching on the Church are examined: - equality of all the faithful with regard to the dignity and to the activity for the building up of the Body of Christ; - complementarity and synergy of all the charisms of the Holy Spirit. Since there is 'a diversity of ministry but a oneness of mission' (AA 2), no one in the Church can act alone, without the necessary contribution of the others. The article then establishes that these new paradigms have influenced the Council’s teachings on catechesis. However, the multifaceted task of Christian initiation and evangelization is quite demanding. Some of its current challenges are discussed in the conclusion. |
