Dans la première partie, sont exposés les rôles des six forces actives dans le processus du choix, et en particulier la réflexion (fikr) qui est à l’origine de la liberté humaine. La deuxième partie de l’article est consacrée à l’importance théologique du choix humain qui, selon Baḥya, est plus important que les actes extérieurs. En effet, selon l’auteur, le choix humain est indépendant de la volonté divine qui en fait le critère de base de la rémunération divine. The aim of this article is to analyze the different psychological forces that play some role in the process of human choice in the book Duties of the Heart by Baḥya ibn Paquda. The first part of the article explains the roles of the six psychological forces that are active in the process of choice. The most important force is the reflect (fikr) that is the cause of human freedom. The second part of the article deals with the theological importance of choice that, in the opinion of Baḥya, is more important than the one’s action. The reason for this importance is the unique independence of human choice from divine will. Therefore, choice is the basic criteria for divine remuneration. |
