Abstract :
This article is a contribution to the debate on the supposedly theological turn in modern French phenomenology. While much of the discussion centers on method, the theology that speaks from this phenomenology remains underexposed. This article seeks to enlighten the theology at hand, in particular that which speaks from the work of Jean-Louis Chrétien. Clarification of his theology contributes to a comprehensive appreciation of Chrétien’s thinking and offers a way out of a methodological deadlock.
