Abstract :

Setting out from the debate between Ricoeur and Derrida, this study seeks to understand the notion of «life» that corresponds to «living metaphor». It is in his research into the work of resemblance, that is, in an interpretation of schematism that draws attention to the comparative principle at the heart of the Kantian concept of imagination that we find the theoretical foundations of this metaphor in Ricoeur. Elucidated in a reading of Kant’s aesthetic idea, it makes it possible for him to think the overlapping between the poetic mode and the speculative mode of discourse without renouncing the distinction in principle between them.
