No pre-existing cardiovascular disease was present. Autopsy diagnosis revealed eosinophilic myocarditis. Ranitidine and cephalosporin-antibiotics are considered as potential causal agents. Despite high dose of glucocorticoids before surgery, the eosinophilic myocarditis was fatal for the patient. |
