Abstract :
The article puts into question the idea that the nucleus of religion - the God-talk - is peaceful (“in God there is no violence”), whereas all aggression should be located on the side of humankind, through differentiating a conceptual model of relating war to the concept of God in the Jewish-Christian tradition. He urges a more complex model of connecting God to issues of war and peace.
