Je suis le Chemin, la Vérité et la Vie». Après un rappel rapide de l’historique des Conférences antérieures, de Rio de Janeiro (1955) à Saint-Domingue (1992), en passant par Medellin (1968) et Puebla (1979), l’article décrit le processus de préparation et présente l‘agenda d’Aparecida. Il analyse ensuite quelques-uns des principaux enjeux théologiques et pastoraux, avant de tenter un premier bilan à la lumière du Document de conclusion. The Fifth General Conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopate was held in May 2007 at Aparecida (Brasil) with as its theme “Disciples and missionaries of Jesus Christ so that our peoples may have life in Him. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. After a rapid reminder of the past history of previous Conferences: from Rio de Janeiro (1955) to Santo-Domingo (1992), mentioning Medellin (1968) and Puebla (1979), this article describes the process of preparation and gives a presentation of the Aparecida agenda. It then analyses some of the principal theological and pastoral questions involved before trying to give a first assessment in the light of the Concluding Report. |
